The Walking Horse Trainers’ Association held their 56th Annual National Trainers’ Show on March 13-16, 2024, at the Cooper Steel Arena in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Each year, the WHTA Horse Show Committee selects a charity. This year, the Tony Rice Center was chosen.

The volunteers from the Tony Rice Center helped all four days of the show at the admission and gate locations. Their work was very valuable and helped make this show a huge success.

On April 26, 2024, the WHTA, represented by the show co-chairmen, Dee Cantrell and Carlyle Johnson, horse show committee member, Beth Thomas and WHTA Executive Secretary Mel Bryant presented a $5,800 check to representatives from the Tony Rice Center. Past President Chris Clay, John Barber, Board President Howard Rupard, Secretary Jimmy Burton and Executive Director Cody Harris.
