United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) rode in the Annual Mule Day Parade on April 6, 2024, in Columbia, Tenn.  Hagerty rode in the parade aboard a Tennessee Walking Horse and was accompanied by Steve Smith, an avid horseman, owner and breeder of Tennessee Walking Horses.

Senator Hagerty has been tremendous supporter of the Tennessee Walking Horse and its impact on rural communities in Tennessee and across the southeastern United States.  Hagerty has regularly attended the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and remains engaged in the current regulatory threats to the industry.

Smith, a former World Grand Champion exhibitor and President of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association also is the Hagerty’s finance chairman.
