John Wayne Cordell, age 65, of Boaz, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. His funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in the Highpoint Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Lybrand will officiate. The pallbearers will be John-Mark Cordell, Mathew Cordell, Randy Seay, Bo Bright, Tommy Bryant, and Tommy Thompson. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the chapel before the service on Saturday.

He was a long time Walking Horse enthusiast and had many roles within the industry through the years. He is survived by wife; Karla Cordell, children; John-Mark Cordell (Desi), Mathew Cordell (Courtney), and Anna-Beth Cordell (Brandi Pruitt), step-daughter; Karli Smith, sister; Deborah Seay (Randy), and grandchildren; Harper, Branch, Archer, and Harley Cordell, and Karson Pruitt.

He is preceded in death by first wife of 40 years; Anna Cordell, and parents; Bernice Bucklew and BillEbb Cordell.
