The Walking Horse Report has learned of the passing of Reserve World Champion Air Force. By The Skywatch and out of Queen Of Motown, Air Force was born March 20, 2007, and was part of the Diana Popp breeding program. This same sire and dam combination had produced World Grand Champion The Coach just three seasons prior.
Air Force’s show ring appearances started out slowly when he was younger, but he became a show ring regular the fall of 2016 and going forward. With former owners Dee Broom and Ray Solley, Air Force had strong performances on the Tennessee and Alabama show circuits from 2017-2019 when each respectively owned the champion.
It was in the beginning of 2022 that Air Force was put under the direction of Supremacy Show Horses in North Carolina with Bryant and Macy Norwood by then owners Kelly and Lee Stultz. He quickly caught the eye of Beth Tucker who selected him in June of 2022 to be her new amateur mount. The trio of Air Force, Macy and Tucker proved successful as they claimed several blue ribbons and won several championship classes. Highlighting 2023 for them was that he claimed both the North Carolina Walking Horse Association and South Carolina Walking Horse Association Performance Horse of the Year honors.
Air Force will be missed dearly by all those that crossed paths with him.
