Jose’s Fame, by Generator’s Fame and out of Jose’s Trick Or Treat, was bred by Phil Haven of Fremont, Ohio, and was foaled on October 1, 2006. He was started as a two-year-old by Donnie Sinard of Kodak, Tennessee. The duo found great success in 2009 having a near flawless season. Their show ring debut came as a win at the Chestnut Hill Charity show. From there it was on to victories at the Baileyton/Ruritan, the Tennessee State Championships and at the ETWHA Trainers’ Show. The next couple of years, Jose’s Fame and Sinard remained a dominate team during their three and four-year-old seasons.

Following a break in competition, Fame was sold to Terry and Brandon Givens in 2015. They began competing in open divisions such as Adult Ponies earning a reserve finish at the Owingsville Lions Club show, and a blue ribbon victory pass in the 15.2 & Under class at the Fentress County Fair. Multiple riders found success with Jose’s Fame under the Five Star banner as the special horse seemed to be a favorite to everyone around

A Hawkins County horse enthusiast, Don Broome purchased Jose’s Fame in 2016. This new team, along with daughter Meredith Broome, won many blues under the direction of both Five Star Farms and Snappwood Farms. Wins and reserves came at shows all across the southeast including at the North Carolina Championships, South Carolina Ladies Auxilairy, East Tennessee Classic, Smoky Mountain Classic, ETWHA Fall Classic, Claiborne County Fair and many others, along with a top five finish at the Celebration.

In 2021, Broome called Dean Rouse knowing his love for this horse as he followed him throughout his entire career. The opportunity had finally come along for Rouse to own Jose’s Fame aka “Bob”. Rouse made his first show ring appearance aboard Jose’s Fame at the East Tennessee Classic in June of 2022, claiming the victory in the Amateur 15.2 & Under class. Together the team bonded and were a special duo winning multiple blues including a fourth place tie at the Celebration, along with a classic horse ribbon. In 2023, the two were back doing what they loved and found more success earning multiple blue ribbons, along with the Amateur Owned & Trained high point awards at both the NCWHA and the ETWHA banquets.

To say a horse is a man’s best friend is an understatement. Jose’s Fame was more than a horse and a best friend to the Rouse family, he was their family. He was always willing to do whatever he was asked, and knew the love from the Rouse family for him was special. He was a significant part of their family and will be terribly missed.
