Blues For Santana passed away March 4, 2025. Born May 15, 2009, Blues For Santana was bred by Floyd Sherman and was sired by Generator’s Santana out of Good N’ Evil, an Evil Generator mare.

The young contender took to the show ring as a two-year-old with Stacy Blackburn and together they had several strong show ring performances. It was in 2013, though, that he caught the eye of Dan and Jae Crunk. The duo teamed up to take on the amateur show pleasure division in 2014 and had wins at the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival and Mid-South Horse Show Association Charity show under the Philip Trimble Stables banner.

In 2015, Colton Trimble directed Blues For Santana to the Owner-Amateur Youth 6-11 Show Pleasure World Championship. That continued to prove to be a strong pairing with them coming back in 2016 to take the spotlight ride in the Owner-Amateur Youth Show Pleasure World Grand Championship.

As the years progressed, Blues For Santana remained a staple in show pleasure competition with multiple riders directing him to victory lane, including another world championship in 2017 with Colton.

It was the summer of 2019 when Blues For Santana found his forever home with the Tom Ware family who owned him until his passing. Maci Ware and the champion became quite the team from there forward, evening earning a blue ribbon their first time out. Together they amassed 16 trips to the winner’s circle that included a world championship, a reserve world grand championship and a reserve world championship.
