The Walking Horse Report Announces New Hire – WhitLei Green-Burks
The Walking Horse Report is excited to announce that Mrs. WhitLei Green-Burks has joined the team as Content and Online Director. WhitLei is no stranger to the Walking Horse industry, having been involved in it her entire life. "I was less than a week old when I rode my first Walking Horse with my dad," she shared. WhitLei comes from a family deeply rooted in the business—both of her grandfathers were trainers, as well as her father, her husband and her uncle.
WhitLei married Tanner Burks in February 2024, and together they share three dogs—Briggs, Baine and Wylei. In addition to her role with The Walking Horse Report, she teaches riding lessons on her family farm and rents local houses for major events in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
You may also spot her in the show ring riding one of her AOT mounts, WC He Is Forrest Gump or WC The Hillbilly Hippie. To date, WhitLei has won five world championships and one world grand championship.
WhitLei added, “The Walking Horse business is a huge part of my life, and I am excited to work with The WHR to keep everyone updated on the happenings within our industry.”
