Kentucky Walking Horse Association Alliance Release
Tuesday, January 13, 2026
The Kentucky Walking Horse Association (KWHA) Board of Directors are in communication with other state and area organizations concerning the information that has recently been shared with the Walking Horse industry. There have been numerous concerns and questions asked about the Alliance proposal.
The proposed Alliance appears to be in the early stages, and we will continue to update our members as we gain information. We feel that everyone involved in the industry should be properly represented in this type of proposal.
The Walking Horse industry continues to face legal challenges, and those challenges require financial support. We have repeatedly contributed financially and will continue to do so, as more information comes forward. We will also be working to preserve our shows and to provide an affordable place for our members to enjoy and show the horses that we love.
We look forward to having our voice heard, and plan to continue communicating and promoting our horse within our own and other organizations.
Terry Logan Lunsford
KWHA Board President
