Introducing the Battle of the Saddles Showdown (B.O.S.S.)
Thursday, May 29, 2025
WHOA is proud to unveil an exciting new high point program—Battle of the Saddles Showdown (B.O.S.S.)—designed to highlight the versatility, athleticism, and adaptability of our beloved breed.
This innovative program will take place during the International Pleasure & Colt Grand Championship and the World Versatility Show, encouraging riders to participate in both traditional and western dressage disciplines. Through this format, B.O.S.S. aims to recognize the most well-rounded and accomplished horse/rider teams in the Walking Horse industry.
To be eligible for the B.O.S.S. title, exhibitors must nominate a horse/rider team, who will then compete in one traditional dressage test and one western dressage test at each show. The team’s highest scoring test in each discipline from both events will be used to calculate a combined average percentage. This creates a total of four tests—two from each event—with the final score reflecting the team's all-around ability and consistency.
The Battle of the Saddles Showdown invites competitors to demonstrate balance, grace, and connection in both western and traditional dressage, affirming the Tennessee Walking Horse’s place as a multifaceted and highly capable breed.
